Welcome!
It's nice that some of you have found this place. I thought it would be good to explain what this place is, and isn't.
I used to maintain the wiki of known playable sets on Chiptalk (CT) back in the day. After a break from the hobby, I made the jump to PCF. It sure was a lot different than CT in both good and bad ways. One thing for sure is that it really turned the hobby up a few notches! It's a fantastic resource to those of us addicted to chip sets.
I eventually wanted to resurrect my pics of playable sets but there wasn't a way to have that many pics in a thread so I created pokerchip.gallery and it was listed as a resource on PCF. I eventually decided to take it down because it was hard to maintain the way it was setup. I missed having the pics available for myself and still thought it was a needed resource for the community.
I ended up creating HomePokerInfo.com (HPI) as a way to host the playable sets pictures and also host an old copy of HomePokerTourney.com (HPT) that I had saved before it died. In creating this site, I also thought it would be nice to slowly build a place that served as an entry to hosting home poker games like the old HPT was. I *love* this game and I love helping people have a reason to get together face-to-face and actually socialize.
In building this humble little site I thought it would be nice to also have a place for people to interact and ask questions. Not a chip site per se, but just a forum for home poker enthusiasts that might never even think about moving beyond dice chips. People that want to host but don't know much about the games, the gear, and some of the norms many players expect. I wanted to inspire people to give it a go!
This is not CT 2.0, PCF 2.0, or ChipDonkeys 2.0.
It would be great if this became HPT 2.0 in spirit but I could never come close to producing the greatness that nutN2Lewz did. I'm always learning and just wanted to share with others that might also be learning.
I was thinking about closing the forum when the license renewal was due this year because nobody used it. I'm happy to keep it going if you all find value in it.
I'm not looking for drama so please be nice to each other. If you're a PCFer then you have a lot of knowledge to share. If someone comes into the forum knowing nothing about chips or all the poker norms, be nice to them, help them out. Let's grow home poker together by sharing our knowledge. What the heck else is it good for!?
Questions? Concerns? Suggestions? I'm all ears
